Terms of Service for Yume
Introduction
Welcome to Yume, a digital platform facilitating connections between individuals seeking support in addiction recovery and independent Addiction Recovery Counselors (“Coaches”). This Terms of Service Agreement (“Agreement”) governs your use of the Yume platform, website, and associated services (collectively, the “Platform”).
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Platform, you affirmatively accept the terms and conditions contained herein and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to abide by these terms, please refrain from using the Platform.
Nature of the Platform
- Yume’s Role: Yume serves as a digital intermediary, enabling users to access support and guidance from Coaches and soon Licensed Therapists. Yume does not provide clinical or medical services.
- Independent Contractor Status of Coaches: Coaches and are independent contractors with a minimum of one year of sobriety, who have successfully passed background checks and have been vetted through professional referrals. They have completed over 80 hours of training in addiction recovery. Yume is not responsible for any actions or omissions by Coaches.
- Weekly Check-Ins: Coaches engage in regular check-ins with licensed therapists to maintain their well-being and effectiveness, enhancing the support provided to users.
- Limitation of Services: Coaches provide non-clinical guidance. They do not offer medical advice, diagnosis, or emergency intervention.
Emergency Situations
In cases of immediate danger, self-harm, or medical emergencies, you must contact local emergency services. The Platform is not designed or equipped to handle such situations, and Yume disclaims any liability for events arising from such emergencies.
Disclaimer of Warranty and Limitation of Liability
- No Express or Implied Warranties: The Platform and its content are provided without warranties of any kind, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
- Limitation of Liability: Yume, its affiliates, and its service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your access or use of the Platform or interactions with Coaches.
- Cap on Liability: Yume’s total liability for all claims related to the Agreement will not exceed the total amount of service fees paid by you to Yume in the 12 months preceding the claim.
User Responsibilities
Users of the Platform must comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account information and are solely responsible for all activities that occur under their account. Interactions and engagements with Coaches are at the user’s own risk.
Subscription and Payment
Yume offers various subscription models for its services. Subscriptions are auto-renewing until explicitly canceled by the user. All fees are non-refundable except as required by law. Yume reserves the right to modify its pricing structure at any time, with adequate notice to existing users.

Yume is committed to supporting your journey towards recovery. Our 30-day money-back guarantee is offered to encourage full engagement with our platform’s resources, including participation in the community, consistent app usage, and attendance at G/A meetings. This guarantee is subject to the following conditions:
Active Participation: Users must demonstrate active engagement with the app, including but not limited to participating in community discussions, completing daily tasks, and utilizing tracking features.
Meeting Attendance: Users are encouraged to attend G/A meetings during the 30-day period to complement their recovery process. Proof of attendance may be required.
Request Process: To request a refund, users must submit a detailed account of their participation and meeting attendance within the 30-day period, demonstrating how the app was actively used.
Yume reserves the right to void the money-back guarantee if, upon review, the user’s engagement does not meet the outlined criteria. This policy is designed to encourage a commitment to recovery and ensure all users are fully benefiting from Yume’s features and support network.
By subscribing to Yume, users agree to these terms, acknowledging that the guarantee is contingent upon their active and demonstrable use of the app and its features as part of their recovery effort.
Modifications and Interruptions to Service
Yume reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Platform or any service without notice. Yume is not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Platform.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from this Agreement shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Virginia.
Changes to Terms
Yume reserves the right to modify this Agreement at any time. Your continued use of the Platform following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of such changes.
Entire Agreement
This Agreement, along with Yume’s Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Yume concerning the Platform and supersedes all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral.
